【摘要】:Althoughcolormeasuringinstrumentsarewidelyused,colormatchesareusuallycheckedvisually.Thestandardizationofvisualexaminationhasgreatlyimprovedtheuniformityofproductsandtheaccuracyofcolormatches.Theuseofthispracticeisessentialforcriticalcolormatchingbutisalsorecommendedforanycolorappraisal,suchasthechoiceorapprovalofacolor.Thispracticeiswidelyusedinindustrytochoosecolors,exhibitcolorsreproducibly,inspectincomingmaterials,monitorcolorproducingprocesses,andinspectfinishedgoods.Visualappraisalisparticularlyimportantwhentheproductinspectedisnotofthesamematerialasthecolorstandardtowhichitiscompared.4.2.1Observers8212;Thispracticeisbasedonthefundamentalassumptionthattheobserverhasnormalcolorvisionandistrainedandexperiencedinobservingandclassifyingcolordifferences.Thesignificanceoftheresultsdependsonthatbeingso.Theselection,evaluation,andtrainingofobserversaretreatedinGuideE1499.4.2.2Illumination8212;SimulatedaveragedaylightisrecommendedbytheInternationalCommissiononIllumination(CIE),butaslightlybluersimulatednorth-skydaylightcameintowidespreaduseinNorthAmerica,becauseitprovidesaslightlygreaterdistinctionbetweenverypaleyellowandwhite,adistinctionofgreatcommercialimportance.1.1Thispracticespecifiestheequipmentandproceduresforvisualappraisalofthecolorsandcolordifferencesofopaquematerialsthatarediffuselyilluminated.Thesespecificationareofcriticalimportanceincolormatching.Thispracticerequiresjudgmentsbyobserverswithnormalcolorvision.1.2Criticalvisualappraisalofcolorsandcolordifferencesofmaterialssuchasmetallicandpearlescentpaintsrequiresilluminationthatisnearlyageometricsimulationofsunlight,becausesuchdirectionalilluminationpermitsobservationoftheglitterandgoniochromatismthatcharacterizesuchmaterials.Suchviewingconditionsarebeyondthescopeofthispractice.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
